Literacy Stations

Rhyming Flip Books
I love flip books.  The kids really enjoyed making these rhyming flip books.   They choose the words and are able to draw and label their words.

Alliteration
The kids were able to choose a letter and the draw and label 6 pictures that started with that sound.

*this child drew a giraffe for "j" , this works since giraffe starts with the /j/ sound

Letter Sort
Are your letters tall, small, or do they fall?

It's time to change reading stations.  My reading stations stay the same for 2 weeks and then some are rotated out.

Station 2- Letter Factory DVD on the computer.  Fantastic video!

Station 3 - Number words to 0 -10 and color words spelling on cookie sheets with magnets.

Station 5 - Alliteration Station - match the beginning sound of each picture to the correct letter.

Students walk around the room writing words they see that start with a, b, c, etc...

Literacy Stations

Literacy Stations will change every two weeks.  Now we are working on letter/sound correspondence,  rhyming, alliteration (matching beginning sounds), and blending.  I have 10 stations.  The students go to 2 stations / day.  I have had some of these stations for so long that I cannot remember where I got them.  If I remember or if you know please let me know so I can add the link :)

Play Dough Letter Formation

Rhyming Puzzle

Alliteration Mat - match the beginning sounds of each picture to the corresponding letter.

ABC - which letters are missing?

Alliteration cards - clothes pin is put on picture with the correct sound.
