Reindeer Day and Santa Day

We loved Santa Day!  We loved creating our mystery picture !

We took one "normal" picture and then one where we all yelled "HO, HO, HO!!".

Reindeer day seemed to fly by because we had our party but we were able to write about Rudolph and go to the computer lab.

Elf Day

We loved Elf Day! We made Elf donuts, created an elf on a 100 chart by coloring in the numbers, (we used place value, skip counting, and lots of other strategies to figure each number out), and then made an elf and wrote about elves. It was so much fun!

Some of the kids wanted to make an elf donut for Elfie😊

Grinch Day

We had such a good time on Grinch Day! We read How the Grinch Stole Christmas and found all the rhyming words. We love how Dr Suess uses nonsense words! Then we made our own Grinch and wrote something we knew about him!  To end our day we watched The Grinch movie and ate Grinch popcorn and Grinch punch! Yummy!!!

The grinch is mean and he is 53.

The grinch is mean.

Math Stations

We have so cool new stations this week!

Station 1: graphing

Station 2: smart board

Station 3:how many or making 10
Students either clip on the number that shows how many or on the number needed to make 10.

Station4: computer

Station 5: Mystery Picture
Students use place value or ten frames to figure out the number needed and color that number to reveal the mystery picture.

Station 6: comparing numbers
Students draw 2 cards , build a set that matches that number, and then defines which set is greater or fewer.

Station 7: building numbers
Studnwts draw a card and build that number. Then they make a set that is less and more.

Station 8 :place value
Somehow I missed getting a picture. 😟
Studnwts build numbers using rods and singles to represent the number in place value.

Elfie

Our elf came to visit today!!! Everyone was so excited!  We came up with several names and voted on our favorite. Meet Elfie, she will be reporting back to Santa every day so we have to be on our best behavior!
