50th day of school

We LOVED our 50th day! It may have been short on time due to conference week but we made the most of it!

This has to be the cutest kindergartners ever!

We could not have all work and no play.... We predicted if the ice cream in our drink would sink or float when the soda was added.  After we discovered it floated I let them in on a little secret.  I told them that is why that drink is called a coke float /root beer float/etc... 

(ours was a sherbet and sprite float)

We had to have a special snack.  We had hamburgers and french fries with ketchup.  (cupcakes cut in half with brownies and sesame seeds on the "bun" with sugar cookies cut into strips to look like french fries.  We also had red frosting for ketchup. 

We filled in a 50 chart, wrote about what we would like to have 50 of, and we still have somethings to finish up tomorrow!

Force and Motion

Force and Motion with Ramps

We had so much fun experimenting with our ramps. I would walk by and tell the groups where on the purple grid I wanted their car to land. We used different textures to slow down our cars and either raised or lowered their ramps.

Wellstar

Wellstar came out with their well bee program. Their program visits schools and teaches lessons to students about being safe and healthy. 

This lesson was on poison. Some household items are poison if used incorrectly. (Ex perfume if drank, medicine taken by the wrong person, etc) 

These stickers went home yesterday.

Gravity

You You We have loved learning about gravity.
We have read several books and conducted many dropping experiments.

We watched a video about Jason Pollock, an artist who puts his canvas on the ground and never lets his brush touch the canvas. How does the paint get from the paintbrush to the canvas? GRAVITY!

So we of course had to try out gravity painting!

Pink Day

I love pink day! Everyone look AMAZING! 

Pledge

It was our turn to say the pledge on the morning news! We will be able to go up 4 times so everyone will have a chance.  

Zero the Hero

I am very excited to announce that Zero the Hero remembered that today, the first day back after a break, was the 40th day of school and came to visit and brought us our treat! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
