Literacy Stations for the week

Station 1- Smart board 
Students worked on recognizing sight words. 
Station 2- writing
Students worked on illustrating and writing with a story prompt. 
Station 3-making words
Students identified the beginning sounds of three pictures, then blended the sounds together to make a new word. 
Station 4- making words 
Students used picture strips to write words. 
Station 5- sight words 
Students worked in identifying sight words and spelling them. 

Station 6- making words 
Students used magnets to build words (range in level of difficulty) 
Station 7- iPads
Students practice reading skills using apps on the iPad. 

Math Stations for the Week

Station1- smart board 
Students played math games based on what skills they needed to work on. 

Station2 -place value
Students read place value and drew the number in 10 frames. Then they drew a set that is one more and one less. 
Station 3- place value 
Students rchoose a number card and draw the number in place value. Then they drew a set that is one more and one less. 
Station 4- iPads 
Students worked on math apps based on the skills 

Station 5-students drew a place value card and found the number it represented on the 100 chart. 
Station 6- making 10
Students flipped over cards and only made a match of the two numbers equaled 10. 
Station 7- computer
Students worked on addition strategies.  

The Mitten

Today we read The Mitten by Jan Brett. We discussed the sequence the animals went into the mitten and then wrote what we liked most about the story.

Party!!

I hope that everyone has enjoyed their Winter Break!  We had a great time at our party  I hope those of you that were able to come enjoyed yourselves.  It was controlled chaos but that is how we roll. 😊
































 

We loved playing pin the heart on the Grinch, gingerbread bean bag tops, elf golf, and making jingle bell brackets and candy cane ornaments. 

I hope you all enjoyed your gifts.
