Why do we label? Since we aren't ready for sentences yet we are working on labeling what is in our picture. We worked on hearing each sound and using our resources in the room to help spell words. 
They did a great job. If they asked, "Did I spell that right ?" I would say, "If you wrote every sound you heard then that's exactly how a 5 year old would spell it!". They were so proud!
