Gravity

Today we worked on our standard for GRAVITY ~ I can describe the effect of gravity.

We read Gravity by Jason Chin and talked about gravity.   We cannot see it but it is what keeps us on the ground.

Then we talked about painting with gravity.  We watched a video with Jason Pollock "gravity painting"

The brush never touches the paper so...What makes the paint go from the brush to the paper? GRAVITY! (we also used force and motion since we couldn't help ourselves and slung paint off our brush )  :)

Notice we are wearing our safety glasses?!?!

What is Gravity?

What is gravity?  Today we read several books on gravity. We then charted our responses. All of our answers seemed to all say one of the three statements we put on the chart.

Then we wrote about gravity.

The next day we illustrated our Gravity poem in our Poetry Journal.

We also watched the Magic School Bus Gains Weight during recess today since the ground was still wet. It was about a slam dunk contest and how gravity effects weight.

Gravity and How Things Move

This week we are talking about gravity and motion. We started with gravity. We made this anchor chart about gravity, read a book and watched a video on gravity.

We also illustrated our Gravity poem in our poetry notebooks.
