We had so much fun! They kept asking to play again and again. Each student would touch the smart board and the random name selector selects who goes next.

The Day the Monster Went to School
What?!?! A monster at school? Certainly not. We read the book, The Day A Monster Came to School. We listened for when he made bad choices and loved the ending where he learned the rules and made good choices!

It's Almost Time
I am so excited to begin this school year! I enjoyed meeting each one of you and cannot wait to get to know you better as the year progresses. Please take a minute to read the previous post that will tell you a little more about me.
You will hear a lot about "clips" this year.
This is where we will sit for morning meeting, conduct our 3 part lessons, and read.
This is one of my favorite boards. As we start writing your child's name will be put under the category they need to work on. This is a great way for them to take charge of tier learning and know exactly what they need to work on.
I am so excited about the smart board. We will use this through out the day.
I hope you enjoyed hour treats on Thursday! Don't forget your magic confetti Sunday night!

Welcome to THE CONTROLLED CHAOS CLASSROOM!
Welcome to The Controlled
Chaos Classroom. I
am so excited to begin our new school year. I hope you find this blog
informational and a fun way to keep up with your child's weekly
activities. I blog about our math stations, literacy station, and
any other fun things we are doing. Usually I ask my daughters what they did at
school and they say, "Nothing.", "I don't know!", or
"We had snack, lunch, and went to recess!". It drives me
crazy. I know they do more and when I ask more specific questions, it
sparks their memory. My hope is that this helps you be able to ask
more specific questions to your child and be able to have great conversations
with them about school.
My husband, mother, twin sister, Autumn, Addison, and I at the Teacher of the Year ceremony.
I moved to
Georgia after college to begin my teaching career. I have been
teaching in the public school system for the past 11 years. I graduated
from the Jacksonville State University in Alabama with my undergraduate degree
and my Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. I also attended
Piedmont College where I earned my Educational Specialist Degree in Curriculum
and Instruction. I taught 1st grade for 6 years, in the Early
Intervention Program (EIP) for a year and am beginning my 5th year teaching
Kindergarten. Last year I was named the Teacher of the Year for Dugan Elementary. I have been married for ten years and have two
daughters. My oldest daughter will be in third grade and my youngest
daughter will be in first grade.
I am looking forward to sharing my
Controlled Chaos with you!
We have an amazing
Kindergarten Team!
