Pink, the Letter P, and syllables

We read our Pp book and then charted words that start with P.

We illustrated our Pp poem!

We also illustrated our Pink song (sung to the tune of Jingle Bells)

We also worked on segmenting words into syllables.  We clapped out our words and the out them in the correct colomn.

Next we clapped out the syllables in our  name and graphed them into 1,2, or 3 syllables.

Numbers 4 and 5 and the letter T

We are learning all about the number 4. During the opening, we start with our number cards showing different ways to show 4. Then we discuss how it looks on a ten frame, dot cube, number line, tally marks, place value, and in a set.

During work time, the students work with partners to show the number in different ways.

During the closing, 2 students are chosen to show their work, explain what they have done, and answer questions from the other students.

We repeat this process daily. 😊

We also graphed transportation - how they go home daily  (letter T).

In our poetry journal we illustrated Tamy Turtle!

Every week we write about out letter of the week. I am so proud of how the students work has progressed!

Our Tt craft was a tractor.  I love the way they turned out!

Magic Tree House

I love Magic Tree House books!   The vocabulary is great and the historical fiction is fun for the kids.  I love when I stop reading and they say "please read more!!!"

We are now on book 3.  After wading 2 chapters today, we illustrated and labeled the character and setting.

1:1 Correspondence

I call it "touch and say". We use it when we count AND when we read.
Today we practiced tracking our print -top to bottom/left to right
